Our primary motivation is to provide a programming model for enterprise integration that is completely consistent with the Spring framework and portfolio. Going beyond "integration with Spring" or even "built on top of Spring", we will fully exploit Spring's capabilities in the very core of the Spring Integration framework - including such areas as AOP, annotation-based configuration, lifecycle management, task execution, transactions, and security.
