A call detail record (CDR) is generated for each attempted call. A standard
CDR (not including the LNP CDR fields) is 468 nibbles long or 234 bytes,
and is formatted in Binary Coded Decimal (BCD)/Hexadecimal (HEX) by the
Automatic Message Accounting (AMA) facility. When the LNP fields are
added to the standard CDR, it is 544 nibbles long, or 272 bytes.
This chapter describes the following topics:
• format of the CDR: standard and Location Routing Number (LNP)
• details of each field, presented in order of the field offset number
Format of standard CDR 6
Figure 6-1 through Figure 6-6 depict the bit map and record format of the
DMS-MTX call detail record, including any filler (that is, unused space) that
exists in the CDR. The number appearing to the left of the field is the offset
number (in nibbles). The number in parentheses, next to the field name,
represents the field number.
Note: The fillers are associated with field numbers, but from a software
point of view, they are not defined as fields in the CDR.
Table 6-1 provides a summary of the CDR format, with symbolic field
names, number of digits, field type or values, and offset number.
