TIBCO is a messaging service based in a C++ implementation providing C++ and Java programming interface. Technically it is very much like JMS but it was born much much earlier than JMS.

TIBCO is the de facto standard for messaging service in financial world. Many big banks, investment firms, stock exchanges and brokers use TIBCO as the primary or one of the primary protocol/technology platform for messaging service.

HOWEVER, I strongly don't believe that person is from tibco. As a formal HR he/she should at least possess some valid company email address. I will say this is just another job agent - a bad one who don't know how to make a good lie.

Anyway, though I don't believe in the contact person, I think it is a good practice of not looking down upon the firm on the first glance :)
