Dell cocks up on Chinese web site

Cut-price deal will not be honoured

BOX SHIFTER Dell has admitted cocking up a price of one of its servers on its website.
A spokesDell said that the price for a Dell dual core server was listed at 1,000 Yuan (£65) on the Dell China site. Needless to say, thousands of bargain hunters swamped the site placing thousands of orders before anyone noticed.

Fortunately for Dell the incident happened in China. Similar incidents in the UK and US have involved companies having to shell out small fortunes in compensation or provide the goods at the advertised price.

But under the Glorious People's Republic of China's consumer laws, those pesky bargain hunters are lucky to get their money back.

Dell says that the mistake was caused by a Dell employee and customers will be refunded for their purchase.

This is not the first time that Dell China has made a stuff-up on its website. Last month Chinese customers discovered that the outfit had put a different CPU in a laptop than what was described on the company's website. µ

但是在中华人民共和国的消法条文上却并没有明确规定这一点,因此DELL此次如果要赖账的话消费者也是无可奈何,DELL算是逃过一劫.

DELL声称这次错误是由他们的雇员导致,所有订购并付款的用户将退回他们的付款.

这已经不是DELL中国第一次出错,就在上次同一个网站还爆出了笔记本CPU错误而遭到消费者质疑的事情.
