China – Severe Flooding; Landslides

About 40 million people across 28 of China's provinces have been affected by recent flooding. Nearly 500,000 people have been displaced or made homeless, over 100,000 homes have been destroyed, infrastructure of all varieties has taken a severe hit and about 144 people have been killed. Twenty-six people remain missing. Landslides, building collapses and damages to roadways and bridges have all been reported. Since July 1, severe flooding caused by torrential rains has blocked roadways across portions of Guangdong, Guizhou, Guangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Fujian, Jiangxi and Zhejiang provinces.
