You don't have to use Chinese client if you follow this way:

1. Make sure your client has the same version with the server checking (which is 1.9.xxxx now).
2. Change the realmist.wtf (should be this name) under the WOW folder. Inside which change the line:
SET realmist="us.login.worldofwarcraft.com"
into
SET realmist="cn2.grunt.wowchina.com"
This step is to change the login server of the client. after that, do whatever you want.
